Dear Parent/Guardian,
Congratulations! Your child has been selected to participate in the South African “Courageous Conversations” Project. Through our partnership with Long Island University: Post, our school has created a relationship with Desmond TuTu Secondary School in South Africa. Your child was selected, along with nine other scholars, to participate in this project by consistently demonstrating our core values of Accountability, Integrity and Respect (AIR). Our scholars will be communicating with South African students through a live webcast on November 24, 2014 on the campus of Long Island University: Post.
The topics of conversation for the webcast include: citizenship, culture, values and education. Our school will provide transportation to and from the university. Our scholars will meet with university faculty, tour the campus and have lunch with college students. A permission slip with trip details is attached to this letter. I am honored to recognize your child as an outstanding scholar within our school.
Sincerely,
Richard Roder
Principal
